Message Types

There are many reasons a user may want to ask a question or to send a poll or survey to their care community including:

  • Assessing experiences from a scheduled visit or appointment
  • Assessing experiences from an interview, discussion or interaction with staff
  • Requesting participation in an event or clinic
  • Likeliness of referral
  • RSVP to an event
  • Menu or activity preferences

Note: Message Exchange works in all modalities (email, text and voice). The response will be captured for all three.

Multiple Choice Questions

To include a multiple-choice question in your message simply:

  • Open a template or create a new message
  • Click the Message Type dropdown
  • Select Multiple Choice Question
  • Write your question
  • Create options by clicking the green Add Choice button
  • Remove choices by clicking the trash can

Add as many options as you like. Only one multiple-choice question per template is possible.

Rating Scale

To include a rating question in your message simply:

  • Open a template or create a new message
  • Click the Message Type dropdown
  • Select Rating
  • Write your question in the Question area
  • Click the box above each number to edit the scale/rating to your liking

Text Response

Initiate a conversation and receive replies directly within the platform. A dedicated dialogue thread enables seamless back-and-forth communication until the conversation is concluded by the original sender from your organization.

To send a message and request a response:

  • Open a template or create a new message
  • Filter your audience as desired
  • From the Message Type dropdown, select Text Response
  • Send your message

To View Responses

  • Navigate to the Main Menu ☰ > Sent Jobs
  • Click Job Info of the desired message. You can see which messages have included  a Message Type under the Message Type column
  • Each recipient and their response will be listed. You can also see a visual breakdown via the Analytics button in the top right-hand corner. 
  • Click on the text in the Answered column to expand the full response
  • If further follow-up is required, Close the pop-up, and select the check box next to the desired recipient(s)
  • Click Send Message in the top right corner
  • From the dropdown, select a template or create a new message
  • Write a message as normal. 

Each new message will be logged separately in the Sent Jobs panel.

Note: Senders need to manually check in Sent Jobs for responses and follow-ups. Notifications of responses are a coming enhancement.

💡 When To Use Message Exchange

  • Internal and external appointments where a change has been made or feedback is required on the care plan, medication, diet, social or therapy services
  • Resident intake and discharge where the care team and families require dialogue to execute plans effectively
  • Announcing shifts and receiving responses/confirming staff shift assignments
  • Enable staff to provide updates, responses or timelines on required training or certification
