Encryption in ACM Vault

Enhancing Security for ACM Alerts: A Look at Encryption and 2FA

We take the security of your ACM Alerts seriously. That’s why we’ve implemented multiple layers of protection, including link encryption, unique identifiers, and two-factor authentication (2FA).

Encrypted Links with Unique gUIDs

Each ACM Alert notification contains a unique, non-duplicable link generated using a globally unique identifier (gUID). This gUID ensures that each link is distinct and cannot be guessed or replicated, preventing unauthorized access. Furthermore, the link itself is encrypted, protecting the information transmitted between the notification and the landing page.

Encrypted Landing Page

The landing page where you access your ACM Alerts is also fully encrypted using HTTPS. This encryption ensures that any information you view or interact with on the page is protected from interception.

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): The Gold Standard

For an extra layer of security, we utilize two-factor authentication (2FA). This means that even if someone were to somehow obtain your login credentials, they would still need a second factor to access your alerts. This second factor is  a verification code sent to your email or phone.

2FA is considered the gold standard in online security because it significantly reduces the risk of unauthorized access, even in the event of a compromised password. It adds an essential layer of protection, ensuring that only authorized individuals can view and manage your ACM Alerts.

By combining link encryption with unique gUIDs, a secure landing page, and the robust protection of 2FA, we strive to provide the highest level of security for your ACM Alerts.
