Communicate effectively based on status. Use the Status filter to tailor your messages to:
New residents: Welcome them and provide important information
Current residents: Share updates, reminders, or engage in ongoing communication
Discharged residents: Stay connected and encourage returns, which can benefit both the resident and the facility by ensuring continued Medicare payments and reducing penalties related to readmissions or emergency room visits.
How to Filter by Resident Status
To use advanced search filters for one or more specific contacts:
- Open a template and select To > Recipient Filters > Recipient Type
- Under the filter options, select Contacts
New
Residents whose contact information is in the EHR, but still need to move in.
- In Message Options: a Waiting List Status filter
Current
The default audience
- In Message Options: Payer Type includes Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, Private, etc. (corresponds with your EHR)
- In Message Options: Patient Type allows the user to select Inpatient vs. Outpatient (default is inpatient)
Discharged
Residents not currently part of census.
- Discharged between DATE and DATE
- Discharged after DATE
- Discharged after X days
- Discharged between X days ago and X days ago
- In Message Options: select a Discharge Reason, Payer Type or Payer Care Type
Newly Admitted
Residents admitted within the last 60 days
- Admitted between DATE and DATE
- Admitted after DATE
- Admitted after X days
- Admitted between X days ago and X days ago
NOTE: “Discharged after X days”, “Admitted after X days” and “Admitted between X days and X days” allow for the creation of recurring scheduled messages.
