Before sending a direct message, especially one with sensitive content, we need to make sure the recipient is okay with it. We’ll ask for their consent beforehand.
This is a two-step, automated process:
- Consent Request: The first message will politely ask for their permission to share information with them using their preferred communication method.
- Your Message: Only if they give consent will they receive your actual message.
This helps ensure we respect everyone’s privacy and only share information when it’s okay with them.
Organizational Consent Settings
ACM Messenger provides a default consent request message, which you can easily tailor to fit your facility’s needs. To customize the message and settings:
- Main Menu ☰ > Settings > Organizational
- Edit and save the message to suit your needs
This is also where you can change the default consent behaviour. Options are:
- Always require consent
- Require consent if sending to one contact
- Never require consent
Check consent settings for individual contacts
- Main Menu ☰ > Resident Directory
- Type the contact name into the search bar
- Click on the contact name
Each contact will be listed separately. Their consent settings for text, email and phone will be listed.
To manually set, or override the default consent options per message
- Open a template and choose your facility and recipients as normal
- Select Message Options
- Under the Override Default Consent Mode select the correct consent mode
Note: Unless privileges have been updated in User Management, only an Organization Administrator can override this feature. The default setting is “Require consent if sending to one resident.”
