Publishing a Form

Publishing a Form

Publishing a form makes it live so you can start collecting responses. Draft forms can be edited freely, but once a form is published, its structure is locked to ensure data consistency.

Steps to Publish a Form

  1. Open the form you want to publish in the Form Editor
  2. Review the form fields, layout, and validation rules to ensure everything is complete
  3. In the bottom-right corner of the editor, click Publish
  4. The form’s status will change from Draft to Published

Share the form link or embed it where needed to start collecting responses.

What Happens When a Form is Published?

  • The form becomes live and available to respondents
  • Responses will be stored in Submitted Forms
  • You cannot make direct edits to the published version

Important Rules About Published Forms

A published form cannot be reverted back to draft, edited, and republished. This prevents inconsistent or messy data.

If you need to make changes:

  • Copy the form and edit the copy, or
  • Unpublish the form (see below)

Unpublishing a Form

If you no longer want the form to collect responses:

  • Open the form settings
  • Select Unpublish
  • The form’s status will change to Draft (Unpublished)

🔎 Note: An unpublished form cannot be edited, but you can republish it at any time to make it live again.
