Form Template Status
Form Template Status
Templates have two main statuses: Draft and Published. Understanding how each status works helps keep your data clean and ensures you collect accurate responses.
Draft Forms
- A Draft form is a work in progress.
- You can edit a draft form as much as you like — adjust fields, questions, or formatting until it’s ready.
- Draft forms are not visible to respondents and do not collect responses.
Published Forms
- A Published form is live and collecting responses.
- Once a form is published, it cannot be reverted back to draft, changed, and then republished.
- This restriction prevents messy data or incomplete response sets.
Unpublishing Forms
If you unpublish a form, it moves into draft mode, but with restrictions:
- The form becomes inactive and stops collecting responses.
- You cannot edit the unpublished form.
- You can re-publish the form at any time to make it live again and continue collecting responses.
Copying A Template
Sometimes, you may need to make changes to an existing form without altering the original. In this case, use the Copy function:
- Click the three dots next to the form name.
- Select Copy.
- The Form Editor will open with a new form titled Form Name (copy).
- You can now edit this copy freely and publish it when ready.
This ensures the original form (and its data) remains intact while giving you flexibility to update or experiment.
