ACS Scheduler FAQs
ACS Scheduler FAQs
FAQs:
Q: What is ACS Scheduler?
A: Think of it as the brain behind the daily calendar. It is an automated, rule-based platform that coordinates monthly schedules across staff, rooms, and equipment. While an EMR handles patient details, ACS Scheduler organizes all the internal people and resources that keep the facility running.
Q: Does ACS Scheduler replace our EMR?
A: No. It is designed to work right alongside the EMR. The EMR stays the main source of truth for patient files, while ACS Scheduler tackles the complex back-office logistics and scheduling rules.
Q: What kind of scheduling rules can the system handle?
A: Just about any rule needed! The system handles shift rotations, consecutive days on/off, priority tiers (like full-time, part-time, or casual staff), union guidelines, and specific availability patterns. Rules are completely customizable to match unique operations.
Q: Can existing schedules be imported?
A: Yes. Schedules can easily be uploaded or exported using a standard CSV spreadsheet file. Just grab the official template from the CSV Upload tab under the Admin settings. To make sure the data maps perfectly, ensure the spreadsheet column headers match the template exactly before uploading.
Q: Can the generated schedule be edited?
A: Absolutely. Schedules can be viewed by week or month, filtered by specific people, rooms, or categories, and adjusted in real time. The team can review a proposed schedule, manually tweak it, accept it, or have the system regenerate a new draft.
Q: What does the AI assistant do?
A: The AI assistant is a built-in helper for the schedule coordinator. It quickly answers scheduling questions, surfaces open availability, and helps make rapid layout adjustments. It acts as an assistant to speed up workflows, but never makes permanent changes on its own.
Q: Will this work for non-medical scheduling?
A: Yes. The platform is built around a flexible “People, Rooms, and Resources” framework, meaning it can easily adapt to almost any operational setting or industry.
Q: There are no Physicians here—can the system labels be changed?
A: Yes! Custom labels can be created to fit any workflow. Whether the team needs to track specific staff roles, specialized units, community groups, or vehicles, the terminology can be customized to match the organization.
