Using Variable Tags to Insert Form Links in ACM Messenger
Using Variable Tags to Insert Form Links in ACM Messenger
When sending messages through ACM Messenger, you can attach forms or surveys and insert them into your message body as clickable hyperlinks using variable tags. This makes your communication clear and ensures recipients can access the right form easily.
How Variable Tags Work
- When you attach a form or survey to a message, ACM Messenger automatically assigns it a green pill label, such as Form1, Form2, etc.
- To insert a hyperlink to the form in your message, type the corresponding variable tag in your message body (FORM1).
- When the message is sent:
- The system replaces FORM1 with the Form Name as a hyperlink.
Example
- You attach two forms: Consent Form and Feedback Survey.
- ACM Messenger assigns them Form1 and Form2.
In your message body, you write: “Please complete the following: FORM1 and FORM2.”
The recipient will see:
“Please complete the following: Consent Form and Feedback Survey.”
Each form name is automatically turned into a hyperlink.
Rules and Behaviour
The system is dynamic:
- If you use FORM3 in your message but have only attached two forms, the FORM3 tag will not work.
- Invalid tags do not turn green and no hyperlink will appear.
- The text shown in the message will always match the Form Name of the attached form.
- You can attach multiple forms and insert them anywhere in the message using their corresponding tags.
Best Practices
- Always double-check that the number of forms attached matches the tags you use.
- Use clear wording in your message so recipients understand which form they are being asked to complete.
- Keep form names concise so hyperlinks look clean in the final message.
