Accessing Communication Logs in your EMR/EHR

Accessing Communication Logs in your EMR/EHR

One of the best perks of an ACM Messenger integration is that you don’t have to play “copy-paste” with your outreach. To keep your records accurate and audit-ready, all communication logs are automatically uploaded directly into your EMR/EHR.

Here is a quick guide on where to find these records within your system.

Where the Logs are Stored

Because ACM Messenger acts as a seamless extension of your workflow, the communication summaries are treated like any other external result or clinical note.

You can typically find the automated uploads in the following areas of a patient’s chart:

  • Documents / Files Section: This is the most common location. Logs are often categorized under a specific “Cliniconex” folder or tag.
  • Miscellaneous Section: If your EMR doesn’t have a dedicated “Communications” tab, check the miscellaneous or “Uncategorized” documents area.
  • Patient History / Correspondence: In some systems, these appear chronologically alongside your other patient letters and outbound faxes.
What’s Included in the Upload?

The automated entry ensures your records are up-to-date without manual data entry. Each log generally contains:

  1. Timestamp: When the message was sent.
  2. Delivery Status: Whether the message was successfully delivered, picked up, or failed.
  3. Patient Response: Any confirmations or responses (e.g., “Confirmed” or “Option A”) provided by the recipient.

Note: The exact naming convention (e.g., Cliniconex_Log_2026-02-26) may vary slightly depending on your specific EMR configuration.
